JO-VIN's story begins in 1928, when Vincent Pappalardo opened a modest drapery workroom in New York City. From the very start, the work was hands-on and personal: measuring, cutting, sewing, and hanging, guided by a simple belief that the details inside a home matter as much as the architecture around them

That founding spirit took root and grew. Under the leadership of the second generation, Leo Pappalardo, the business expanded its scope and reputation, building lasting relationships with designers, contractors, leading hospitality brands and homeowners across the New York metropolitan area. Leo deepened the company's commitment to quality and refined its expertise across an ever-wider range of products and services, from custom window treatments and drapery to upholstery, bedding, and motorized systems.

Image about-1

"My father taught me that a client should never have to ask twice. You get it right, you get it done, and you stand behind your work."

Leo Pappalardo

Today, nearly 100 years on from that first workroom, JO-VIN is led by Michael Pappalardo, the third generation of the family, who carries that same hands-on dedication into a new era. Michael has grown the business into a full-service workroom and design resource, now operating out of a 20,000-square-foot facility in Woodhaven, Queens, equipped to take on projects of any scale, from a single residential room to large commercial installations, often on short notice.

"We've been doing this for almost a hundred years because we never stopped caring about the work itself. Every job that comes through our doors gets the same attention it would have gotten in 1928."

Michael Pappalardo

What hasn't changed is the approach. Every project is measured, fabricated, and installed by people who care deeply about the outcome. The technology has evolved, with motorization, precision fabrication, and new materials, but the craftsmanship and the family behind it remain constant.

Whether you're a designer working on a demanding commercial project, a homeowner looking to transform a single room, or a contractor who needs a reliable fabrication partner, JO-VIN is ready. A century in, the work is still personal.
